Mission
The mission of DeSaH BV is the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable technologies and concepts within the water chain.
DeSaH BV develops sustainable innovations that can be used cost-effectively within the (decentralised) water chain in collaboration with universities, knowledge institutes and other parties with a high degree of know-how.
Vision
DeSaH works continuously on the further development of existing concepts and technologies, but also on the development of new ones. This enables us to remain at the forefront of innovative and decentralised water technology.
DeSaH is also strongly focused on the integrality of projects (see our philosophy here). We believe that close cooperation between the various partner organisations from the very beginning of a project is essential for achieving a joint success.
Philosophy
No more waste in the water chain
True sustainability goes beyond the search for savings; it is all about redesigning processes. Nature is a good example. Within nature there is no such thing as waste and this principle is the basis on which we can redesign our processes. At the end of their life in one product, used materials can be given a useful second life in another product. This must not result in any loss of quality and possible residual products should also be reused. If we succeed in closing the cycle, we will have achieved the natural principle of ‘waste = food’, which is also the foundation of the Cradle to Cradle principle (C2C).
This is how we work towards a circular economy where both economic and people’s welfare are gained and benefits for nature can be achieved. With the circular economy in mind, the use of old terms such as ‘wastewater’ seems strange. After all, this water contains valuable components, making it more obvious to speak of industrial, agricultural or domestic residual flows. The technology to create value from these streams has been available since 2011. As a pioneer in sustainable water technology, DeSaH does not speak of wastewater treatment, but of Resource Management System (RMS)
Resource Management System (RMS)
The RMS involves the collection, transport and processing of residual flows based on using the values present in these flows.
The design of the RMS largely depends on the objectives of the client(s), the existing infrastructure, existing residual flows and other environmental factors. Waste streams from agriculture, industry, households and other sources, but also (sewage) sludge can serve as input for the RMS. Within the design of the RMS, not only a choice is made for the techniques to be applied for processing, but it is also determined which residual flows, the degree of separation and dilution of residual flows, the degree of decentralisation and the way of collection and transport.
This can lead to a source-oriented approach in which separate substreams are handled decentrally where possible.
Innovative solution
In order to create optimal value for its partners, DeSaH approaches each individual project with a helicopter view. Based on the objectives of its client(s) in combination with all relevant elements, existing infrastructure and environmental factors, DeSaH BV determines the most optimal form of implementation of the RMS. In the subsequent advice and solutions, DeSaH can draw on previous experience and also use sustainable decentralised concepts developed in-house.
Numerous possibilities
The DeSaH philosophy can be applied in many projects and in many different places. In residential areas, but also in office buildings, schools and hospitals. DeSaH offers a suitable solution for every location. It is very well possible to use existing infrastructure such as manure digesters, industrial digesters or sewage treatment plants within the RMS.
