Winner Global Water Awards

The Swedish RecoLab project in the Oceanhamnen district of Helsingborg, the Global Water Awards 2022 won in the Wastewater Project of the Year category!

When nominated, the project already met the main selection criterion, namely greatest innovation in the field of optimisation of physical or ecological footprint. With the applied design, DeSaH already won the Swedish Innovation Award in the "Blackwater and Food Waste Challenge" in the "Purification Plant" category in 2015, aimed at recycling waste streams. The jury report at the time stated, "DeSaH has developed a compact wastewater treatment plant. A concept that contributes to increased recirculation of water, nutrients and energy."
In the Oceanhamnen residential area, grey and black water from homes and buildings is now collected and processed separately. Kitchens are also equipped with a grinder for processing food waste. The emphasis is entirely on recovering valuable raw materials such as fertilisers and biogas as well as heat recovery.

Now after completion, another crowning achievement, with this prestigious award.
