An innovative expansion was implemented at a large sports complex that accommodated 188 students. This expansion doubles the capacity of the boarding school, which calls for a robust and sustainable wastewater treatment plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simferopol's location on the Black Sea places additional demands on the environmental impact of wastewater. This water body, due to its limited flow, is extremely susceptible to eutrophication - a process in which excess nutrients lead to a decline in biodiversity. By focusing on circular and local treatment of wastewater, the impact on this fragile ecosystem is minimised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-seashore-color has-text-color has-link-color class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this project, Desah is installing a source-separated wastewater collection system where greywater (from shower, wash and rinse water) and blackwater (from toilets) are collected separately. This separation allows both water streams to be treated more effectively and sustainably, while retaining valuable nutrients and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to the project, Desah carried out a feasibility study after which the process design and detailed engineering were developed.
