Desah source-separated wastewater treatment

Circular, compact wastewater treatment

Desah's source-separated wastewater treatment system is a compact, circular solution that collects and treats greywater and blackwater separately. Besides treating wastewater locally, this concept focuses on reducing drinking water consumption and recovering and reusing water, energy and nutrients.

Features

The system separates greywater (from shower, washing machine, dishwasher) and blackwater (from toilets and possibly green waste) at source and treats both streams separately. The two streams are transported separately to a compact decentralised water treatment plant.

Greywater is collected via free-flow and treated energy-efficiently. The treated water can be discharged locally or reused for toilet flushing or irrigation.

Blackwater is collected via vacuum toilets and vacuum sewers and then processed, allowing energy and nutrients to be recovered and reused.
